Angola is one of the largest AG national churches in Africa with 1.3 million members. Though it is large, it’s members and pastors are largely untrained due to years of war. In 2014, more than 1,000 men and women were consecrated for ministry. Most of them had received no formal Bible training.
Africa’s Hope and the missionaries on the ground have been asked by the Angola national leadership to provide adequate Bible training for the more than 10,000 men and women who are in full-time ministry and Christian leadership positions across the country.
The Huambo Bible College is located in the interior of the country in a city called Huambo. Huambo is in a key location for transportation. It is at the hub of many crossroads throughout the country. This location will enable many pastors to attend the Bible school that would not have been able to otherwise.
The college has 110 active students. More students are continuing to apply, but the facilities are limited.
Construction on the Huambo Bible College was begun in 2013 and is still in process. The facilities, however, continue to be used for teaching pastors and other Christian leaders. The need is too great to stop using the facility until construction is complete. Also desperate is the need for financing. We need $125,000 to complete this training center.”
