The FireBible is a powerful ministry tool. The majority of pastors in Africa cannot afford commentaries and other study materials. For a pastor to own a study Bible would be an incredible resource. With graduation season approaching, I have a special request for you. Will you help Africa’s Hope provide FireBibles in French for the pastors who will graduate from West Africa Advanced School of Theology (WAAST) this year?
On graduation day in Lomé, Togo, as degrees are presented, we want to give a FireBible to each graduate. The sad truth is that some graduates do not own a Bible, and very few can afford a study Bible, let alone a FireBible in their own language with its valuable study notes.
Fernando Bata, from Mozambique, is like so many pastors. His personal Bible fell apart many years ago (see the photo above), but he has no choice but to continue using it. Fernando is not alone. I’ve seen worn-out Bibles like that one in many classrooms across Africa. We want to provide Bible school graduates in Africa with a FireBible—a rugged, high-quality Bible that can endure the elements. Each Bible includes Pentecostal study notes, a concordance, insightful articles, maps, and other ministry helps that are so important for rightly understanding and preaching the Word. A FireBible could change a pastor’s ministry, and you can help make one available for as many graduates as you wish. Our preliminary goal is 200 FireBibles, but our hope is to purchase hundreds more for future graduating classes. Imagine the faces of the graduates when they each receive a new FireBible in their own language on graduation day!
An offering of $20, $50, $100 or more will help make a FireBible available to the WAAST Bible school graduates this year. In the future, with your help, we have plans to make more FireBible language editions (in addition to French) available to graduates across Africa. A FireBible in their heart language is a gift Bible school graduates will treasure and use often as they minister to their congregations and reach the lost. They will walk across the platform to receive both a diploma and a FireBible! Please pray about what you can do to help today. What an awesome gift for deserving pastors whose personal Bibles are in very poor condition, who lack study materials, or who have no Bible at all.
Perhaps your small group or Sunday school class could adopt this project and provide dozens or even hundreds of FireBibles. Please respond quickly so that the Bibles can be acquired and delivered to Africa in time for graduation ceremonies.
Thank you for supporting the ministry of Africa’s Hope as we seek to empower and train leaders across the great continent of Africa.
