Sierra Leone has been declared “Ebola free.” The Ebola outbreak claimed more than 11,000 lives in West Africa. Many of them were people from our AG churches. Today, the ministry opportunities are wide open again in that country. We are headed there soon and hope to bless at least 100 pastors!
Will you help?
A few years ago Africa’s Hope began to help strengthen Assemblies of God national churches across Africa by providing their leaders with Kindles. In 2015 we distributed Kindles in Kenya, Sierra Leone, Mozambique, Tanzania, Cameroon (pictured above), Ghana, South Africa, Senegal, Gabon, Guinea Conakry, and Ivory Coast.
For the majority of recipients, an Africa’s Hope Kindle represents the only library they will ever own. As Sierra Leonean pastors now face people’s loss and grief due to the Ebola crisis, we hope to provide Kindles for these pastors to assist them in ministry. Each Kindle has more than 900 books loaded on it that focus on preaching, teaching, discipleship, personal growth, leadership and other ministry topics.
Early last year we brought this need to you for Kindles, and the response has been wonderful! Kindles have been made available to African pastors in many countries, helping to expand their knowledge of the Bible and ministry. It would cost many thousands of dollars if we had to ship to Sierra Leone and other countries in Africa the same quantity of individual, printed books that are loaded on the Kindles. But with the miracle of technology, and your generosity, we are able to purchase Kindle readers, load hundreds of books onto them, and get them to pastors at a cost of $100 per Kindle!
We leave for Sierra Leone soon and hope to present 100 more Kindles to 100 pastors and bless their lives and ministries. Will you help provide those Kindles?
We have no doubt the 100 new Kindles will help immensely. Please, if you’re able to today, make a contribution to this need for Sierra Leone. This is a tangible, strategic way in which you can make an investment in training more leaders in Africa this year.
