Ramadan in Senegal

As I write this I am listening to the Imams of several mosques chanting their prayers over their loud speakers. Ramadan started earlier this week, and Muslims are supposed to fast all day.

I lead the Africa's Hope team devotions today. Many were traveling; however, it was great to be surprised by Doug Hollis (college friend and missionary to Indonesia) who showed up unannounced.

This evening I had dinner with all those from the great “Northern California/Nevada District” who were in town for the missionary commissioning service tomorrow night.

Summer always brings Missionary Renewal time, and we have been meeting for the last two days with all the Africa missionaries who are in the US on furlough. We have a great team across Africa!

Family reunion time! First my aunts and uncles and their families on my mom’s side, then later in the week, all my mom’s cousins. It is always great to get together with family.
